1. What the App is

Explorer Geology Dictionary is an English–Myanmar geology dictionary–style application. The App stores dictionary content locally on your device after it is synchronized from our backend systems, so that search and browsing can work offline where possible.

2. Information the App uses

Depending on how you use the App, the following may apply:

2.1 Sync and backend services

The App uses PowerSync (provided by JourneyApps) to synchronize dictionary data between our cloud database and a local database on your device. Our source data is hosted using MongoDB Atlas (or compatible MongoDB cloud services). When you use the App, your device connects to these services over the internet. Sync-related data (such as authentication tokens and operational metadata needed for sync) may be processed by PowerSync and our infrastructure providers.

2.2 Tokens and authentication

To connect to PowerSync securely, the App may obtain a short-lived access token from our HTTPS backend. That token is used only to authorize sync with our PowerSync instance and is not used for unrelated advertising or profiling.

2.3 Local storage

The App keeps a local copy of synced dictionary content (for example in SQLite on your device) so the App can respond quickly and may work when offline. This local data is stored on your device.

2.4 Content you access

Using search, browse, or related features may generate requests to our backend services as needed for the App to function.

2.5 Device and network

The App requires network access to download and refresh content. We do not sell your personal information.

2.6 No accounts in the basic flow

If the App is used without creating a separate user account, we do not require your name, address, or phone number for basic dictionary use. If we add account-based features in the future, we will update this policy.

3. Permissions (Android)

The App may request or use permissions declared in the app, such as:

• Internet and network state — to connect to sync services and content.
• Notifications — only if the App implements notifications in your installed build.

Permissions are used only as needed to provide the App’s features, not for unrelated tracking.

4. Third-party services

We use infrastructure providers to operate the App, including:

• PowerSync (JourneyApps) — synchronization and related services.
• MongoDB Atlas (or compatible MongoDB cloud services) — hosting and storage of source dictionary data.
• Cloud hosting (for example application or token endpoints) — may process requests only as needed to operate the App.

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their documentation if you want technical detail beyond this policy.

5. Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed to operate the App and as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure.

6. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and can be used by people of all ages who are interested in geology and dictionary content. The App is not specifically directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have unintentionally collected personal data from a child, contact us at the email below and we will take steps to delete such information where appropriate.

7. Your rights

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) may apply.
